My advice is if you don't have much experience with audio installs, buy the Pac wiring kit. It will save you a head ache. Here's for those who plan on buying it.. Also, Crutchfield charges too much.. $130?

I would highly advise you, since you're planning on selling the car soon, to not install anything in the car. Getting into complicated stereo mods for a car you'll be getting rid of soon just seems a waste of money, and may decrease the value of your car.
Leave it stock unless you can just unplug the mod and take it back to stock, which doesn't sound like it's possible.
