Close to what your doing now .....good! Do the gear! Dont fear the gear!

You should!
Nuke- I understand what you're saying. Driving at 90 I get home in about 2.5 hours and driving around 75/80 gets me home in 3 hours. If I were to get the gears I would have no choice but to slow it down and I understand that. My rpm's would be so high otherwise and my gas mileage would plummet. Thanks for the imput everyone! One quick question, my car has 13300 miles on it and I don't think I need to get an install kit with the bearings and all that. Anyone agree?
Are they hard miles with hard launches? I would get a new install kit but thats just me and I only have 4500 miles....get a guarantee against gear whine!

i get about 19 and some change mpg and driving about 80 so you'll prolly get somewhere around 19 mpg with 4.10's. before i was getting about 20 and some change, this was before i put in the hot rod cams and 4.10's. only had the high flow cats and borla stingers.

i did the swap myself do a search and i already spelled out the possbile pitfalls that you might encounter... be ready to shell out some money for tools. i bought a dial gauge, a mini-shop press and a in/lb torque wrench. i was going to leave the original bearings in but i didn't remove the bearing right from the pinion so i bought new bearings. check out my thread before you do it if you haven't. the least you need is new carrier shims to adjust the backlash right and some marking compound

You need the install kit not matter what really. You will need atleast a new inner pinion bearing and race, it gets pressed on the pinion shaft and normally can't be removed without damaging it.

one tip. if you buy a bearing separator buy it from snap on they make an awesome one but for big bucks i bought one from harbor freight and had to modify it cause it ruined the bearing

I have installed every single thing on my car so far but rear end gears is not something I will be tackling myself. I have heard of the noises and and all that that people get so I will have a shop install them.

Going from 3.31 to 3.73 gearing made a HUGE difference on mine... if you're on the HWY that much, I'd personally go with 3.73 instead of 4.10. There ya go, my $0.02!
