Chin Spoiler Replacement
I had a 3D Carbon chin spoiler on my car. I have tired of it and ordered an Astro Hammond unit to replace it. My Astor Hammond came yesterday and I removed the 3D Carbon one and quickly attached the A/H spoiler to the car. The 3D Carbon unit had used a lot of 3M double sided tape for installation purposes. I am having a devil of a time getting all the tape and goo off my bumper. What is a good product to use to remove the tape? I know that goo gone is good for removing the goo, but first I need to get all the tape off with out ruining my paint.
a lot of people have used goo-gone to get the residue off and haven't had any problems; i have personally used a hair dryer and isopropyl alcohol and it worked pretty good too. i haven't used goo-gone on my car before, but i have used it on other surfaces, and it does work; so i'd give that a shot.
After completely ruining my nails, wearing my thumb down to the second knuckle and about a gallon of release agent, I finally got all the glue and tape off my bumper. Below are before and after photos. I also decided to put my front license plate back on before I got a ticket. BTW the license plate is not bolted on the bumper, I can remove it in about two minutes and have a clean front with no holes.
