Sorry guys, but it's not a Mustang only thing. I bought my first corvette in 1983 and the corvette wave was even going strong back then and that was 26 yrs ago. To go one step further, if you break down in a corvette it won't be long before a fellow vette owner will pull over, maybe driving his pickup truck to offer you help. But over time, the vette has become an expensive toy that seems to be purchased mainly by middle aged, balding men who can finally afford one...Like me . The wave is still there but not everyone does it. I wave to fellow Mustang owners but they don't wave back. Probably because I live in Massachusetts where drivers are total a$$holes.

Yep, I get waves and nods from other Mustang drivers and do the same. Even in the big city where I live, there's kind of a community to Mustang owners. Funny story: on the very first day I got my 'Stang, another Mustang pulled up next to me at a stoplight. I had my top down. He unrolled his window and the first thing he said was "Hey, how have you modded yours?" He told me the long list of things he had done before the light changed. It was then I know that I was in a sort of club.

One thing I wish.... When I see another 'Stang and pull up to say hi, I just wish it wasn't always another 50 year old bald guy like me! lol!

For me, in Utah...I'd say 80% of the Mustang I see...the drivers seems to have blinders on. My wife and I will give the thumbs-up. Never, I mean never have we gotten responses from middle-aged women or middle aged men in sixers (which make up about 90% of the stangs we see). Seems only the younger people will respond back.

I'll pull up right next to one...do a thumbs-up...when and if they do look over...they look at you like your crazy. That's when I'll just speed up, get in front of them and show off my sequentials.

Seriously, maybe 4 responses out of maybe 20 encounters in 2 years. Sorry, I'm not going to go into detail on the kinda smack my wife and I talk about the "non-responders"
