BBK Shorty Headers Installed (Vids)
It's such a pleasure to drive my stang with no drone and a deep, hard thumping exhaust note. I can't get enough of the sound.
Check out the two new vids I put up if you haven't already. I love the sound between :59 and 1:03 in the "Playing Around" vid.

I did notice a reduction in raspiness. Before, when the mufflers were cold, it would be a little raspy, but the headers smoothed the sound out just enough to clean that up. Now, it has the nice, slightly raspy flutter sound on the way down from a rev. I like that.
I did have a little trumpeting because the Bassani cats are really small and flow well. I haven't noticed any trumpeting after the header installation.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your exhaust so much
Actually, the headers made my car quieter. The sound changed into a deeper, more airy tone instead of the loud spitting sound that the S197 is known for with the after-axle mufflers. I imagine if I had a nice offroad H-pipe with my Bassani street mufflers it would sound a lot like a 5.0.
I have been sort of touting the BBK shorties for quite awhile. But the LT boys dont want to hear anything of it. The BBKs definetly give it a "pulse" in the exhaust note. And it did seem to be only slightly quieter after the shorties went on. I have stock cats with 3" MagnaPaks and think it sounds fantastic. Wouldnt change it.
Actually, after driving the past few days I notice that the exhaust burble is not gone. It just sounds different. Instead of being a popping kind of noise, it's a deeper rumbling sound.
Hope to see you on here more often! Jason
