No tune is needed for shorties. I think shorties are underrated by a lot of people. For the price it sure outweighs the cost of long tubes. For a few less ponies I will spend my money else where.

Congratulations! My new setup is similar to yours. I have Bassani Longtubes. My car sounds more like a 5.0 than any other S197 I've ever heard....except for yours now. LOL

I'm totally sold on Bassani mufflers w/ their catted X & headers. Baaaaadddd ****... Would be curious to see that Bassani Race sounds like. Wouldn't want them though because I already know they have Stinger-like drone.

Yeah, from what I can tell by their looks and the youtube clips, the race mufflers sound like any can-type muffler. It's not a bad sound, but not what I want.

shanec, you've got to get me a vid of your setup. ...Then again..maybe not because I might want to go LT then. Haha!

I'm getting headers!!! haha. Did you notice any reduction in raspyness or possible trumpeting with the shorties? You may not have had any b/c you have cats but let me know. Thanks

I noticed that when i installed mine that it got rid of a lot of the "popping" or gargles on a decell that mine had with the stock manifolds. Im running bbk's, stock cats and boomtubes and love the way it sounds. Great vids! For 300$, and a 4 hour home install, i deffinatly reccomend them! Just make sure you have some stubby ratchet wrenches and long extensions w/ swivels for your ratchets. That is what makes the install go a lot faster.-Jon

I did notice a reduction in raspiness. Before, when the mufflers were cold, it would be a little raspy, but the headers smoothed the sound out just enough to clean that up. Now, it has the nice, slightly raspy flutter sound on the way down from a rev. I like that.

I did have a little trumpeting because the Bassani cats are really small and flow well. I haven't noticed any trumpeting after the header installation.
