so i am all caught up in the hype of the new x-cal 2. my shop guy called me today and told me that he got 2 in today so i am gonna go down there and pick one up. getting it for 300 bucks and he has my x-cal 1 sold for 250 already so i am paying 50 bucks for this thing. i'll let yall know if it is as good as it is built up to be...

Just thought I would save some people the annoyance I'm going through with the X-Cal2. FYI - Right now it doesn't do anything that they say it does. It's only an X-cal1 in a new box. They're coming out with new software for the dealers within the next couple of weeks (or so they say) and with that the tunes they send you will be changeable (and you will have to get a new tune sent to you if you already bought an X-cal2). If you want to change anything now you have to use the tuning software download they have and get them or your dealer to email you tune since you can't pull them off the X-cal2, change it on your computer and then download it to your X-cal then your car. If you want to change it more you'll have to start all over from the tune they sent you and up the parameters more.

How old is that post you quoted? MM&FF recently (April) used an XCAL package for all their tunning on an 05 GT and didn't mention any problems.

got xcal2 a few days ago. it loaded tune they put on for me no problem at all.the tune i got shut off traction control raised red line and adjusted air/fuel at wot.. does seem to be a little more responsive and a tad faster.

from what i have heard, they have been having a few problems with the x2 from the factory but there are updates and fixes coming out nearly daily that fix the problems...such as, you can load a program on your car but cant put it back to factory...but they have a fix for that already too. works fine with the updates
