Default Does ford outsource their repair work??

I dropped my car of for the new cs rear install and fixing whatever else broke when i got hit. Well its been a couple day and my dad says he saw my car at a local muffler shop (Rainbow mufflers) today and yesterday which is like 5 miles from the dealership. I know i needed exhaust work, but i kinda assumed it would all be done at the dealership. Anyone heard of them sending it to other places for work?

Some do, some don't. I know when I wanted the dealer to fix a scratch they made on my old car (01 Mustang GT), they told me to go to a GM dealer :P

Some dealerships work with other shops to have certain work done. Often times this is the case with body work. This especially happens at smaller dealerships. My dealership doesn't have their own body shop. They send cars to the body that is right down the street.

They absolutely do. We had a hail storm last summer that damage thousands of cars. I took mine to the dealer to do the work since they had to replace the roof. A month later when I got it back and wasn't at all happy w/ the final product they admitted to me they had a 3rd party do it b/c they were over booked. Needless to say they took it back to fix all the problems and gave me a free rental car.

When I took my car to the dealership to get my bumper painted they brought it to a small body shop and the work they did wasn't great.
