Default Tuner Question

My 07 GT that I bought used came with an SCT Tuner. Can I use this device on my friend's GT or is a tuner only usable on one car?

You can only tune one vehicle at a time. If you want to tune your friends gt you must first return your car to the stock setting.

You have to pay to have the tuner unlocked to use it on another car. Then you would have to pay again to have it unlocked again to use on your car. I THINK it costs ~$150 each time and you only have 5 unlocks allowed total - someone correct me if I am wrong.

ALSO, the tune has to be written for the correct PCM code that varies from Mustang to Mustang....So, I would call Brenspeed or Bamachips for detailed info before trying anything.....

Ok, now correct me if I'M wrong. I think you can have up to 5 different cars on one tuner but you have to return the car that's presently tuned back to stock before you can load another car's tunes into the handheld. I believe you can do this an unlimited # of times but one car needs to be returned to stock before you can use the tuner on the other. Plus, the custom tunes for 1 car won't work on another.

Best bet is to call Brenspeed and ask their Customer Support.

Read the sct manual. It is 5 Unlocks. So if you go 5 times back and forth between cars you will permanently lock the tuner. If you look on the tuner info button you will see how many unlocks you have left!
