Default Squeaky Driver Seat

I'm sure that my being a larger guy (6'2" / 290lbs) doesn't help - but I've started to notice that my seat when I get in and out of the car is starting to squeak.

Sounds alot like a cricket is in the car ...

I'm just kinda wondering if there is somewhere I can spray a little WD40 or use something else to get rid of the squeak.

Thanks

One source of squeaking is the seat bottom cushion rubbing on the plastic sheath that holds the seat belt recepticle.

When mine was new it squeaked a lot but now it does it a little now and then. Mine is not the springs though, it's the side of the seat rubbing on the console. There is no room between the seat and the console so it rubs and makes the squeaking sound. I put some Armor-All on the seat and it helps for a while.

Yeah, mine is the back portion of the seat .. so I know it's not the tracks or the sittng portion.

Problem is, I have cloth and not leather - so I don't know what the proper course of action would be.

Sorry for being a smart a*s but maybe lose about 70 pounds and that should solve the problem.

I was just getting ready to say it was your seatback rubbing on the arm rest like mine does, but then you said you didn't have leather. Can you identify where the sound is coming from...left, right....high, low? And to the smart ***,^^^ my seat does it when my 170# kid drives the GT. Might not be weight related.

Yeah, it is right in the middle of the back ... so I'm not sure how I would get to it.

BlueDemon, did you find your problem? I've noticed a slight squeak in my driver's seat as well, but my bigger worry is accompanying spring movement. It feels like the seat springs are loose. They sit just above mid-back and have a lot of movement, much more than the passenger seat. I'm guessing I'll have to go to the dealership and cross my fingers that its warranty-able. Any ideas?

Note: I doubt it's my size, I'm under 200lbs and under 6'
