Isn't the plug going to be in your way though? I would think you would bump your knee on it at time.

I'm 6'4 and haven't had any problems with it, it sits pretty flush. As far as wiring goes you can run the wires themselves, I pulled the panel above the steering wheel off, and you really need to unscrew the head unit from it's mounting bracket to be able to snake your hands up in there. It took me 30 minutes.

So I'm guessing it's not some big thick cord like on an SCT, more like a ribbon cable?

Ill snap some pictures for you, its a seperate wire for each gauge, probably 1/4" or smaller.
