Default Rear blackout panel

I have been watching eBay and have been considering the vinyl overlay they have for $20. Has anyone had any issues with installing that item or any pointers or suggestiosn if I decide to go that route as i'm not sure I have the finesse/patience to apply one without the bubbles. Also how do they hold up in regards to scratches and fading?

Also let me first off apologize for not placing this part of my post in the classified section but I have only 38 postings with this message and was not wanting to reply to 13 more posts uselessly just to get to the 50 posts requirement. I am looking for a slightly used but still in good condition rear blackout panel for my 06 and was wondering if anyone out there had one they would consider parting with (I looked in the classifieds without any luck). I need the honeycomb style or the GTS one?

TIA

I have one on my car. I was very weary when I put mine on since it was shipped to me rolled up. The corners would not stick. But after leaving it heat up in the sun, the panel settled perfect. No bubbles. It does attract a lot of dust, if thats one of your concerns.

In my opinion the plain black ones dont look to great, i would keep searching for a shr honeycomb blackout panel. Or just buy new if you can. I love mine, it looks especially good with my gt/cs rear bumper i got, but even before it im very glad i got the shr panel over the cheaper ones i looked at. AM sells a magnetic one for $40, i qould buy it before i bought a vinyl one

Did you ever consider getting it painted black? Thats what I did to mine, only cost $90 canadian to do it at my local shop. Looks excellent and no worries about corners curling up.

Don't buy the magnetic one, somehow it scratched up the bumper just below the trunk lip

I've had the magnetic one on my car for 2 years now, no problems.

If you are just looking for something cheap get the vinyl decal from baltimore street mods for $25. My neighbor had one while I had my magnetic panel. His looked a lot better then mine did and cost about the same.

+1 on the magnetic one. I bought mine from American Muscle a couple weeks ago and it fits great and looks great. The only negative is it comes rolled up and takes a lot of time and patience to get it flat and to get the corners to stick flat. But for $40 it's worth it.

Ive got the magnetic blackout from american muscle. I bought it a week after I got the car and have not had any issues. Make sure that when you clean the car you just take it off and clean underneath it so that nothing gets stuck. Perfect fit.....and looks great also.

07heat & matt07GT, how did you manage to get the rolled up magnetic panel to lay flat? Does it lay perfectly flat? Is it smooth? The reason I'm asking is because I bought one and to be honest, I think it looks like complete $H1T! It's be over 3 weeks and it's still not "perfectly flat". It looks lumpy, for the lack of a better term, and you can definitely tell it was rolled up.
