I'm thinking the same thing damn it the best I ever got was on a trip to hilton head sc and that was only 27mpg average roundtrip and yes thats miles driven divided by gallons consumed I average 21+ during winter and around 23-24 during warmer months and my tune has the mileage option from vmp

My mid to upper 20's MPG is based on a LOT of highway trips (typically over 400 miles one way) where I tank up about 1/2 mile from the highway, run until i'm down to 3/8's or 1/4 tank, fill-up 1/2 mile from the highway and then back onto the highway again.

There are way too many factors that can affect one's AVERAGE MPG.

All that means is that one particular car (or perhaps the average of a few) got that sort of mileage when driven precisely in accordance with the EPA testing drive cycle.

It's where the acronym "YMMV" (Your Mileage May Vary) came from. Yours apparently varies to the high side.

My opinion - EPA mpg numbers are best used as a rough guide only. Plus or minus 10% is just noise.

Not enough is known about the Camaro to use it in valid comparison - for example, it may have been fitted with a 1st to 4th "skip-shift" feature (that most folks with manual tranny 4th gen F-bodies hated).
