I would think a lighter drive shaft, under drive pulleys, CAI, and exhuast would help your milage if you can resist the newfound power.

My 05 is my DD. I have 65K + miles on the car. I drive 26 miles to work and I get exactly 26 mpg. I was able to drive from Orlando Fl. to Chattanooga Tn. on a single tank. I still have a hard time believing this myself.

Very possible if it was 95% highway driving. These cars gas mileage on the highway is amazing.

Backroads from SC to GA (prob 250 miles of backroad), and i average 28mpg, and that is with lots of racing around on the drives there and back.

These cars as V8's have amazing gas mileage even when modded, i have a CAI + exhaust and still maintain 18-19 city, with a good bit of messing around.

I get 24 on the highway at 80 mph. If I did 55-65, I can get anywhere from 26 to 28. East coast highways are not level so there is a loss in the average.

I experimented on a trip between Cincinnati and Columbus last fall (a very flat 100 mile stretch) by locking-in the cruise at 55. I got 31.8 MPG. Car is totally stock 06 GT.

I usually get around 21-23 highway, and 14-16 in the city.... When I first got the stang I averaged about 28-31 highway and 18-20 city.

Rule number one! BS makes the world go round! The EPA test these cars in pristine conditions, 68 degrees, low humidity, driver weight at 150 max, etc, and the sticker on the car spells out the mpg. Also, anyone running gas mixed with ethanol has lost a minimum 2 mpg, because everyones mileage decreases when the gas is ethanol mixed. Now if someone on this forum claimed that they drove flat land highway at 55 mph and milked out 22-24 mpg on a perfect day I would believe them. However, going 85 and getting 25 mpg ain't happenning. Fact, if the car is in overdrive and turning 1900 rpm and going 60 miles per hour, there's only one way you can get the car to go 85 and thats add throttle, which means more fuel is being used. More fuel being used means less miles per gallon. BTW, Rule number 2, Forums are full of Rule number ones!

Some of us have 3.31 gears and are sitting at 1900 rpms at 72mph.... :-)

Just because you don't get good mileage doesn't mean all of us don't...
