I prefer the TCI. The TCI is not only made better and nicer looking than stock, but it still looks like an auto shifter. Having a shifter for an auto that looks just like a manual shifter is kind of rice and/or poser. Maybe with a different handle and possibly a smaller boot it would be better.

I can work around a shifter boot and can see possibly getting some red stitching to match my car.

I am not feeling the TCI shifter. There was a video on you tube of a guy and I was laughing as he was shifting and there was the lag between shifts.. So I am looking at this and thinking this is useless and to boot the TCI shifter looks terrible with the patented pancake flipper handle in front. Also love the disclaimer on BAMA chips website about it.

"Also, this shifter is a nice piece for show but if you want the best way to have your car consistently shift for bracket racing then have a good tune written for your car and put it in drive and leave it alone."

That says it all. Got to love it.

So who is posing the dude with a shifter that looks like a manual or the dude that has an auto driving around trying to shift his car.

I like my auto and think I am getting a custom made shifter ball that says "Manual's Suck" so everyone knows.

Shifter boot looks kinda crappy and overpowering (like darth vader's cape LOL). IMO.
I had another automatic car in the past that I was able to remove the entire auto stick cover and replace it with a stainless steel shaft and ball then you would push down with the palm of your hand to move the shifter, similar to this concept. Wish they would come out with something like that, maybe a thicker straight stainless shaft instead of the "cape". I wouldn't mind putting a hole in my console to mout the O/D button to...... Does anyone have a picture of what is left if you remove the t-handle from our automatics (what's under the plastic)??

I like the TCI shifter but the ratcheting part looks annoying to do on a regular basis... I just want a direct replacement for the shifter itself. Everything else can stay the same. Perhaps a modded TCI shifter, utilizing just the shifter itself without the ratcheting feature??

I don't mind the stock shifter... blocky pos lol.

Not sure I like the look. I'd have to see one installed before I'd considered it. Interesting idea though.

Funny thing, I typed in my zip and found out that guy is 3 miles from my house. I'll have to go check it out.

I'd still like to see what is under the plastic handle. I found a picture similar to the one I had on a previously owned chrysler product (except the ball on mine was also stainless). It replaced an automatic shifter where the button was in the front and pulled in with your middle three fingers. The stock shifter was held on with two torque screws that held it to a metal shaft, you then slid this one down over the shaft after placing the spring on top of the shaft, tightened a torque screw to hold it in place onder the center column, and whala, you had a nice looking shifter that required pressure from your palm to navigate through the different gears. Would be nice if this could work on our cars, we could alwas relocate the o/d button somewhere else?????
