The boot IS hideous lol. And a shorter shifter would be nice.

C'mon guys, lets have some common sense here.If you want a short shifter get a manual trans car. The boot is really not that large. It is not like a manual where it has one pivot point .If you notice, the shifter slides quite a long ways and the length is needed.Maybe in the future i will make another post but i have had too much positive feedback to worry about it now.

and some pics somebody else was askin for of the shifter with everything removed. Replacing the whole shaft looks to be alot of work.

Thanks, yeah i could have redesigned the whole shifter assembly if i had wanted to.The purpose of this product was to get a shifter on the market for under $200.00 that functions well and looks good while being a do it yourself install.I think we took at as far as we can on the self install for most people. You know, as soon as you have someone install it, you are in that $400.00 range again. The reason is the TCI is so much is they have to recoup all the tooling and design money that has been spent. I am surprisde it does not cost more really.

Just making some observations and suggestions here... This guy came up with a really cool product, and I applaud his effort. I think its a great alternative to the factory shift handle.

That being said, when comparing with the TCI your comparing apples to oranges. Despite the fact there may be no real performance improvement with the TCI, it does offer some good features and certainly ads to the "fun factor" when driving the car. You also can't argue with with reverse lockout.

I think this guy would have a real winner on his hands if he can just clean up the look and get those indicators displayed (possible saftey issue there IMHO).

If there were a way to get the boot just inside the edges of the shifter (like the TCI) so the shift indicators would be visible, and add a nice t-handle, it would look more like an auto and be appealing to more people I would think. Maybe offer both options for those who like the stick imitation look?

Shifter does not come with a **** so you can buy what you want and am guessing if you want a T handle you could get one.

Also have a feeling that TCI shifter and its cool factor will fade quickly. I just had to watch this video once and that made up my mind.

It's just a shifter... If your expectation was that it would drastically change the car's tune or how the transmission functions then yes, you will be disappointed. It's akin to buying new wheels then wondering why your car does not go any faster!

My only gripe about the TCI shifter is not actually about the shifter at all but at TCI. They are SLOW AS F**K!

I have no idea what's the hold up on these things. Sum beeches.

I wish B&M would have followed through with theirs. It's always a good thing to have more than one option. But I really dig the TCI's looks. It's much better quality than the OEM, makes manually shifting much safer and easier and looks cool IMO.
