With a manual you don't have that added differential of the harder shifts. That is such an obvious difference that you don't get. Autos shift hard enough with the tune they chirp the tires every time. It really is night/day with them.
+1

I must admitt, alot of people hype up and intake and tune to the point where you'd think you're getting a damn supercharger.

If the CAI and tune doesn't give you a totally different feeling, what are some things to do that will give the best results for acceleration?

I almost think they should charge at least $50 less for tunes with a manual car. You just don't get the same value that you do with the auto. Why should it cost the same?

I have an 07 with auto, and when I put a Steeda CAI and Brenspeed 93 octane tune, it made a big difference. Now, I have to be as gentle as possible with the throttle when I take off from a stoplight if I don't want to slam heads against the headrests and chirp the tires. And if I really get on it from a dead stop and the TCS off, I smoke the tires in first and second and chirp them in 3rd. (I'm still running the stock 235/55R17 Pirellis) I've timed it with my laptop connected to the OBD 2, and I'm able to do 0-60 in 5.1 sec.

I'd agree with people who say "night and day difference" or "it woke the car up", or some such. If you have an auto...

Thanks wthalliii.

I had a thread going about whether to get gears or the tune and CAI, and everyone was telling me to get the tune. If I go with the gears first, I know the speedometer will be off but I could just use my gps for that. Will I have to do anything else if the rest of my car is stock?

Thanks
