X or H?
Although I have not installed shorties, I do not see how they would be any easier that the kooks. You will still need to take off the same stuff. The most Pita is getting the manifolds off and all the parts you need to take off to remove them.
I'll be ordering mine tonight from MarylandSpeed.com... I'm going with the catted-h and will be doing the install with two of my buddies.
Vasman, thanks for all of your input over the past week or so. I can't wait to get these bad boys on and drive into the parking garage at work. :-)

Thanks to Steve O Chap (and SemperFi) for the free coating and to Vasman for the install information. Once we all get them installed we need to start a thread with videos/sound of everybody with kooks systems.
Awesome - There is gonna be a lot of folks installing these at the same time in their garages. Within the last two days 3 or 4 people have ordered these. Were gonna flood the market (or landfills) with stock manifolds. lol

Ok my self and trigger 06 got together as a service to the forum to show the difference in sound oh Kooks LTs Catted H vs X pipe both on stinger axlebacks. Having heard them side to side I can assure you, you cannot go wrong either way. The sound is pretty similar, admittedly a bit deeper on the H pipe particularly on low rpm, and more rumbling. X pipe a bit more smoother on sound. At WOT I could not tell you the difference. The raspiness you hear on the statics is not fair to the system. It does not sound the same under load. (see the last video)
here it goes:
X-pipe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcZ44...e=channel_page
H-pipe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tL4ya...e=channel_page
We only made H pipe acceleration on my convertible.
