Question X or H?

I have an 07 gt with Borlas axle backs.
I am considering the kooks headers with hi flow cats. Do you recommend the X or H pipe for my configuration? My mid pipe is stock (between the borlas and Cats).
I am thinking of self install if that is a factor. I am also thinking of putting a mild set of cams (comp stage 2 NSR's)

Thanks in advance.

My setup is different than yours but I will chime in with my findings, I had a 3" Magnaflow Cat-back that sounded pretty good, at lower RPMs, I put in a Bassani Catted X-pipe last week and WOW what a difference, the sound is way way better, the drone is way less, and it sounds WAY better at all RPMs especially higher... 3500+ is amazing... and from what I hear without the Cats it will sound worse..

From what I've gathered, shorty headers are a waste of time, there is a slight gain from long tubes but hard to say if the pain in the *** of swapping them out is worth it, I suggest a high flow catted x, stock midpipes, as they arent too much different than the aftermarket exhast if you are staying at 2.5".... bolted to your axlebacks... I think it would sound good then, but that is just my suggestion, to each their own. That way you are only swapping out the X...

Well vasman, I'm kinda partial here as you will well see in my Signature.....IMO, definately an H-pipe with High-flow cats with what you have, and are thinking of doing. Mine sound amazing... !!

Thanks. I kinda thought that the H was the way to go, but I had fastlane in Houston pushing the X's on my car for some reason. They claim more hp gain in the region of 5-7hp vs H pipe.. Did you see any power gain with the Kooks LT's and the hi flow cats?

Def go with the H pipe, and then post sound clips because that is exactly the same exahust that I want.

From a few other threads of people installing long tubes they said you will loose a little low end torque, but gain alot up top.

X-pipe will definately have a gain over the H-pipe as it scavenges the exhaust pulses better. H-pipe has a deeper sound in most cases.

Hey im here in houston also. I have not heard an X in person, but I really like my offroad H. I do not have headers, but I've heard that the H will make it sound throatier and deeper , while the X will make it a little louder but raspier. Either way, I want to hear your stuff in person! What part of houston are you in?
