Pshaw ofcourse!!
You won't have a problem under normal driving. Sure, if you nail the throttle in 1st the tires are going to light but not like it's uncontrollable.
Well that's the thing I like about the car right now. If I drop the clutch from a dig ofcourse I can burn rubber. But if I slip it and launch properly then it will grab all the way through first. I hate the idea of having to feather the throttle once the clutch is out.

If that's the case maybe you shouldn't have gone with 4.10's. You will ALWAYS have to feather the throttle in 1st w./ 4.10s. the TR3650 trans has a killer 1st gear. In a DD they can get old really fast. The way I figured it, if I'd gone with 3.73's I would ALWAYS be wondering what 4.10's would be like.

I'm now ready to scale her back to 3.90's or 3.73's. It's a brutal launch with 4.10's.... even with the 305 DR's I'm running. You're going to be surprised no doubt. But there's no reason not to go ahead and do them now. It's not like you won't be able to control the car.

According to the spreadsheet it's only going to drop 5mph off the top of 1st gear vs. the 3.55.

A bigger tire will (eventually) help. Not gonna do that until next year though.

Here's a video of my car with LT headers, full exhaust, CAI, driveshaft and tune w/ 3.55 gears on 275/35-20 rear tires 27''? (295rwhp/308rwtq). Dropped the throttle just off-idle and burned through first gear w/ a hard shift into second. I see nothing wrong with 3.55 gears in first/second gear. It's once you hit 3rd gear with 3.55's that the car would roll over. And a bog. There is no bog w/ 4.10's and 3rd hooks as hard as second and pulls all the way through. First gear is a brute in the 3650. No way around that.

Hmmm.. I'm not arguing with you believe me but on paper it just doesn't seem like it's a night/day difference.

6250RPM in 1st gear with the 3.55 - 42.11mph
6250RPM in 1st gear with the 4.10 - 36.46mph

It also depends a lot on powerband, yes. I can deal with the 4.10's much more easily now that I have a 6800rpm "powerband" via the cams. It's not a thing you can see on paper ;-)

When i had just intake, tune and 4.10s, me and my buddies put some stock wheels / tires on my car to go mess around with. Dude, there was no traction. Even from a 10mph roll if id floor it, i would spin out all of first, and all of 2nd if i was shifting fast. If you let off a little then i would say it would gain traction in 2nd...JMO
