Default 2006 Climate Controll Problem

Hey guys/gals,

Im coming over to you from Explorer Forum. Im a mod over there and I am having some trouble with a 2006 Mustang.

The Climate controls no longer work in my girlfriends car. She drove it one day with the defrost on. She got back in the car and nothing would change. The blower motor is not running but when driving down the road hot hot air comes out the defrost.

You can to control the fan speed, the temp, or where the air comes out at. Also as a side note you can not make the rear defrost work either.

I have checked fuses and relays. What should be my next move?

Thanks,
Burns

Anytime I see an electrical problem I always think of the dreaded leak issue.

Have you checked the passenger floor board for dampness. Especially up against the kick panel?

https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...-mustangs.html

and about 25 other threads. Water can come in the cabin from a few places and most of the time gets an electrical module wet, which can short out and cause all kinds of issues.

But the CCM is mounted in a different location than the
ever so often water logged SJB.
Climate Control problems are usually not indicitive of the water leak..

So not all electrical problems are associated with the
corroded SJB problem...

Friday i am going to work on the car.

Im suspecting the EMTC Module (aka the climate control assembly) to be messed up or just shot.

I have found the ways to test it and am not really looking forward to it.
