I'm on a diet, I'd lose enough to keep the back seat in there, maybe even the spare tire.I only need one.

one thing that article you linked to is a bit off about is the driveshaft.. ours weighs 39lbs! thats huge for a driveshaft.. they are taking a 17lbs and going down to like a 13lb one and saying it helps but its not like getting lighter wheels. In our case going from 39lbs to 15 is a big difference in power. I wonder if anyone has ever done a dyno test to see how much more power you put down after switching...

Light weight wheels and tires, driveshaft and keep an empty trunk and remove 1000 subs if you got any, keep gas at 1/2 tank or a hair less if you are driving it daily. Do not do the drastic measures unless you are on the track only with this car, because the rewards of time gain vs. the inconveniences that come from removing your spare, back seat, soun deadening, etc, is just not worth the risk.

I've thought about this route but given my method was much more extreme.

Basic parts to remove
Some simple things you can do is remove seats all of them replace driver with race seat and passenger if you need. Remove headliner, if you remove spare take out the trunk floor board also.

With modding
All above + driveshaft, BMR wieght reduction level 2, lightweight wheels/tires and fiberglass hood/fenders.

With the set ups above you can still street the car without much inconvienence.

Major
Above+ remove all flooring, airbags, insulation, replace gas tank for fuelcell, cf doors (make sure they the ones that actually save wieght forgot if it wet or dry), remove windows, and replace windshields with clear plastic. Remove exaust.

Godlike
Above+
Have body redone in fiberglass no insulation, and frame redone in aluminum.

As with what everyone else said unless tracking is a priority then not worth going to far. If you enjoy tracking top 2 setups will give you good reduction while keeping streetablility. If you want complete track setup the third one. If you plan on going against supercars godlike setup will let you compete with anything

What is the weight savings of the BMR reduction level 2? And how much does it cost?
