Default Noob question. Please Help. Intake/tuner. Search not working

Hey whats up everyone. My name is Timmy and I have a 2006 GT. I was wondering i just got an o/r x and want to get a intake and tune. My brother says Im going to mess stuff up and void the warranty and screw the car up. Can someone tell me about this stuff and tell me what you think of the JLT/SCT package from Brenspeed. Opinions appreciated. Thanks Doods BTW How is emissions affected from the tune? is turning off the oxygen sensors going to mess up the car a/f at all. Sorry for all the newb questions

You warranty is only void if the modification you performed was responsible for the failure. You'll need a tune to keep the CEL light from coming on after you remove the converters, and the JLT intake REQUIRES a tune or your motor will run lean (bad). If you have emissions testing in AZ, it's probably a safe assumption that the car will fail after removing the converters. I don't think removing the cats will affect your A/F ratio at all.

you need the tune to have the o2 sensors turned off otherwise they will throw a code. JLT, C&L, and Steeda are all popular brands of intakes. all are pretty much the same except for color haha. Brenspeed, BamaChips, and Tillman Speed are all reputable SCT tuners

you will need a tuner to shut off the rear o2's , so you don't get a CEL......you have to have a tune with a JLT/C&L CAI! i have a barely used C&L street/race CAI for sale, but you will need an x3 or diablo for tunes....brenspeed is great and so is bamachips.com
good luck....ready the sticky's..they will answer most your questions
welcome to the forums!
