Default Weatherstripping for gap in GT500 chin?

So I popped my GT500 chin spoiler onto my GT front bumper, but I'm not sure what to use to fill in the gap in the middle of the chin spoiler where the front bumper raises up:

I've heard of people using black rubber weatherstripping (the round-shaped stuff, as would go around your doors, or instance), but I went over to Home Depot thinking they might have something similar to that for house projects that I could use, and the closest I could find was a thin, wide foam-rubber weatherstripping, which I could use to line the very back of the gap and cover the honeycomb stuff on the chin spoiler, but because it isn't round-shaped or thick, it wouldn't really fill in the rest of that gap at all.

For any of you who have done this, what did you use to fill in that gap above the middle of the chin spoiler? And how did you keep everything in place? Screws, adhesive or something?

I used some garage door molding from home depot to fill in some gaps I had on the sides. See pics here in this thread:

I thought about putting a strip across the middle, but never could think of a good way to secure it. Some heavy duty 3M tape might work. I did test fit it across the middle and it fitted perfectly though.
