Problem with engine! Darn Flood! :(
Hey there everyone! Well...I got me a situation regarding my engine....possible hydrolocking from what I have read soo far. Basically its been raining a hella lot here in Daytona Beach, Florida and on my way to the bank i believe water got into my engine. I made this assumption since my air filter was soaked and my car stalled and took a while to restart the engine. When it did it only goes around 1000PRM and 1500RPM and sets at a max of 20MPH. Mt RPM's go crazy if i try giving it gas and then the RPM light comes on (looks like a wrench). And also, my service engine soon light is constantly on. So basically ive determined im in between a rock and a hard place.
Anyways, its an Auto 4.0L so if worse comes to worse i'll have insurance cover most of it since i have full coverage. And if I have enough money ill just convert to a V8 with a manny....but i still wish it would come alive fine.
Please give me any suggestions or comments! Thank you guys

yes i did....RPM's will rev to the 4000 like it should but i still have the service engine soon light. Also, idk how it would work on the road itself since it was in park when i did that...i hope its ok
Ok, now take off your whole air box even the tube to the TB and dry everything out. Take the MAF off the tube and blow it out (use a hair dryer if you want) and make sure its dry. Once you have done all that put it all back on and put in a dry air filter and start the car, if you still get the Check engine light, discont the battery for about 5mins and then hook it back up and start your car and see if it still comes on. If it does and you don't have a Tuner to reset it you can take it by the dealer and let them reset it for you.

ohh yeah, i also just revved it slowly and at around 3500RPM it starts making a weird noise like if it does have water in it although it might just be a little. My thoughts is that it might just evaporate eventually even though i know it will not compress. Idk....I guess i think that also because i saw either evaporation (hopefully) or smoke (i hope not) coming out of my exhaust pipes
Your engine is NOT hydrolocked...if it were, you would not be able to get it to run at all
You do have some water or water mist in there though. Best advice is get it home, take out ALL of the spark plugs and let it sit overnight. Trying to run it with water in there will ruin the engine.
Upon further thinking it may just be that water has gummed up the MAF wire, take the air intake out and make sure ALL water is out of it and it's bone dry in there. Also check your throttle plate. Could be as simple as the water got on the MAF Wire and needs to be blown out/off.

Thank u guys soo much! I was kinda paniking there thinking it was gone....kinda scary. Anyways, im just gonna go ahead and get my oil changed, new intake (maybe upgrade to a K&N), and let the sparkies out for the night
I might wait for some of this humidity to go away first though...
