Default Dissapointed...

I ordered my 05 GT in March, x-plan price. The planned delivery date was 07/07/05.. Right around the corner...
I get a call last week to come into the dealer. I was told that the x-plan orders were pushed to the end of the list. Ford stopped making the 05 to make the 06 now. I was offered a 06 and ofcourse, an additional wait time. I refused the offer, and got my deposit back..
So, because the company I work for (a big cable company) purchases hundreds of vehicles from ford, my order gets pushed off? Thats not right, it should have first come, first serve priority...
So, a local pontiac dealer happend to have a 2002 trans am ws6 black... 5 thousand miles..
Sorry ford, but ya screwed me and a bunch of other people..

Sounds more like a fishy dealer, than Ford. You aren't hurting Ford... just yourself. But, if you're willing to settle for something less than what you wanted, that's your choice. Best wishes with your used car.

I think it was your dealer also. If you ordered back in March, there is no way that car could not have already been built. I ordered mine in March and took delivery on May 23. You should have went to another dealer. I hope your happy with your car.

Well at least you got a sweet ride. I think those Ram Air T/A's are awesome. My buddy had a Red 91 Formula 350 and now has a Black 95 with the LT1 (I think 95's still had the LT1). I had a 77 Bandit T/A with a 400 small block I wish I never sold (Best run of 12.63).

Ford stopped making the 05 to make the 06 now.
This simply is not true dude. You got lied to. I have a confirmed build date next week (6/30 I think) and another guy on this forum has a build date of 7/25. Yours may not have made the cut.. but they ARE still building '05's right now.

T/A's are bad... just not my thing.

I wouldn't blame Ford either. Sounds like a really crappy dealer. When I went shopping for mine I tried 8 dealers in my area and only two of them didn't manage to **** me off. I bought the car from one of them and even got it for a very good price. I got mine for about $3000 less than what they were going for less than a month later.

I had no trouble at all with my dealer or Ford when I got my GT. They were both REAL co-operative. Ford needs to sell all the Mustangs they can make along with the F-150. American auto companies are drowning in red ink right now. So tell that dealer to kiss your stinkin' sphincter, and be sure to let Ford know how you've been treated. It seems they are forced to care right now.

If you haven't noticed, they can't make enough Mustangs to keep up with demand. I have no doubt they will sell every unit they make in 2005 and 2006.

(in reply to 281GT)
I've worked in accounting offices for Chevy, Honda, Toyota & a long time ago-Ford. And from behind the scenes I can tell you, most of the time when a customer doesn't get his car with-in a week or so of the ETA (unless there's some kind of strike), it's because the ball got dropped & the order was never placed, The salesmen got fired, the inventory clerk was sick, or something. I've even seen sold cars come in, that someone's been waiting for, come off the truck and get DX'd to to another dealer. All it takes is one mis-communication. But if you get to the right person, they can sometimes put a change in to make another vehicle yours. If you're not already too PO'd.

i feel ya on this situation. i got jerked around by the ford dealership i went to, to order my GT too, but luckily i called around and actually just found a GT that was already on the lot at a local dealer...so it worked out for the better...that could've been an option for you, or like otherwise suggested, talk to someone else. but i must say the TA you got is sweet as hell!
