Dissapointed...
Hes going to the same dealer, hes gonna get the shaft like I did...
I am just saying, I have the expectation for a dealer to keep their word..
Dishonesty ruins it. Dealer, or ford, the dealer represents ford.. Ford should frown uppon this and take all allocation from them for a year and let another dealer get more sales..
They should have told me NO at the start...

Well let me amend my statement. If he is crazy enough to go to the same dealership that screwed you, than he deserves what he gets. I don't blame you a bit for looking out for your friend. Does Ford know about the actions of this dealership? If they do than I don't blame you a bit for your anger at dealer and Ford. I'm sorry you received such treatment because you are definitely missing out on a sweet car.
Kathy
Lubricant, sorry to hear about your situation and I don't blame you for not wanting to wait any longer. My own horror story goes something like this:
Ordered back on 3/3/05 and was promised that there would be no problem with X-plan. They told me up front that it would take 3 months to get the car so I said fine no problem. On 5/26 my salesman calls me and lets me know I have a build week and everything is going as planned. Next week I get a call from another salesman at the dealer telling me my salesman is no longer with the dealer and that he will be taking over where my original guy left off. Of course I bring up the fact that the agreement was for X-plan pricing. He proceeds to tell me that no one at the dealership was ever authorized to offer a mustang on X-plan and he apologizes for the misunderstanding and agrees to sell the GT to me for MSRP. I give in because I did not get anything in writing other than a DORA because I never imagined that this particular dealer would be playing these kinds of games. Stupid stupid me!!
Anyway I proceeded to go meet my new sales guy and get it all in writing so I can sleep at night. My 05 GT is scheduled to be built next week. The ridiculous wait is almost over.
No matter what, I was going to get this car, whatever it took, but it sure has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I guess I will be forgetting that in the next 2-3 weeks when I get the car.
Ford and their dealers need to face up to the perception that they are creating with the 05 Mustang. They are creating a lot of great buzz and publicity for the company. On the other hand they are squandering the goodwill created by such a great product by not reigning in their bad/unethically run dealers that appear to be a lot more common than you would think.. In addition their lack of forethought in getting the product to market in timely fashion is totally unacceptable. I don't care if its an all new complete redesign blah blah blah... does not matter. Not acceptable.
When I tell my co-workers that I ordered this car in March and they ask do you have it yet? I sheepishly say, no not yet. They can't believe it. They immediately say what's wrong with Ford?? I don't know how to answer that because I'm agreement. What's wrong Ford??

only 3 months?
I ordered my car in January and got it late May...
Did the wait suck?
YUP
Am I glad I waited?
YUP
oh, and the XPlan was denied me too..
wait, did I already say that??
The fact of the matter is that with every person who gives up before the car arrives, there are 3 people who are willing to wait... and Ford can live with that... all the way to the bank...

Actually it has been longer than 3 months. Car is scheduled to built on 6/30. From everything I have read on the various Stang forums 10 days to 2 weeks seems to be about the normal delivery to dealer time from the production date. So that would put me picking the car up at the dealer on about or around July 10th to July 15th. So taking the July 10th date that's 4 months plus a few days.
That's also assuming that my car gets out to the shipping lot before the two week plant shut down. If it does not then its probably looking at August before I get my car. Thanks Ford!!
I am a diehard and I am going to wait for my 05 GT because I really really want it. So I guess they have me right where they want me....
Are you kidding,
WS6 Trans Am w/5,000 miles is one nice ride and it will take a GT Mustang stock to stock all day long. If he did not want to wait I think it worked out pretty good for him. Besides, you will see far fewer WS6s on the street than '05 GTs.
