Do your rims require spacers? Some aftermarket wheels are not hub centric and you could try to balance the tires until your teeth fall out, you will get vibrations.
I am thinking possibly when the wheels are mounted, they are not dead center on the hub. Just a thought, and our shop has come across that problem in the past.
Hmmm I don't think they require spacers. The people at Shelby never mentioned them, nor did the people at American Muscle. I'd like to think that 1. Shelby wouldn't make wheels that require spacers and 2. IF they did, they'd include them with the wheels. Haven't had a chance to go out and do the drop test, gotta squeeze it in while there's still a little light.

And no, no nos in the fuel. I assume you're referring to the most recent, and possibly most epic FAIL ever? NOS energy drink in a gas tank is NOT good...

Take your car to an alignment shop and have them check that front end.
Some is wrong somewhere...

She's going to the dealer tomorrow for an oil change and to get some minor things checked out before the factory warranty runs out. My odometer is reading 35950 lol. Gonna have them check the front end out too.

"one of my original aftermarket wheels were bent" was it always bent (Im guessing no) or how did you bend it. In November I ran a curb at low speeds and bent my front right rim, although I didnt know that right away. That night I swapped back to the stockers with snows for winter. Im almost certain my little misshap shot my ball joints, as my car wouldnt track straight, I had the allignment checked, and it was all in spec. Replaced ball joints and everything seemed to be improved. Summer came, threw my rims on, bam, front wheel wobble / steering wheel shake. Brought it to a shop, yupp, rim bent, had it reballanced n all that, improved a little bit.

However, most noticably now, especially when braking, it pulls to the side, so the brake rotors took a turn for the worse somewhere along the way and contribute to the vibrations. Maybe check this out too.
Brake overhaul is next..

good luck solving the problem

so now we know that the bands can fail on the TPMS sensors inside the tires. Is that system the most useless POS ever mandated on a vehicle or what?

At least we know how to check for it. Add that fix to the thread with all the known problems!

I loved reading all the quotes from around the web...forum sites for everything from motorcycles to cars and from all over the world. The server kept crashing so bad they had to disable pictures and avatars and such. (For those of you don't know, a guy posted in a motorcycle forum that he had poured two bottles of NOS in his fuel tank. First, that's WAY too much fuel additive. Secondly, he put in the NOS energy drink, not the fuel additive!)

On a more serious note, took the car to the dealer today to get the front end looked at. The service rep isn't exactly a genius, but I think he got the point of what I was trying to say. They balanced the wheels and drove it and said it was better. Much to my surprise, they were right. I'd say the vibration is about 95% gone. I guess I'll just have to balance my wheels more frequently.

For those of you who are mechanically inclined, this is what their writeup said on my receipt: "Right tire has high road force of 22lbs causing vibration at 60mph and above. All tires were out of balance and an improvement was made." Well I guess that means they did a crappy job balancing them the first time. But...can anyone interpret the 22lbs of road force? Should I consider that possibly my wheel was not cast properly and is off center or not perfectly round?

At least the vibration is pretty much gone. And to top things off, the paint was bubbled and ready to peel on my driver's side door handle - they fixed it under warranty Wasn't expecting that! And the paint matches my paint (2 years of it being my daily driver and sitting outside in the weather).

I agree...I'm not much of a fan of the TPMS at all. I think it's more designed for idiots who drive their car without knowing anything about it or how to maintain it.
I never considered the bands getting loose like that on the inside, good info for future reference!
