I personally do not like the look of 20's on our cars.
20's make the tires look narrow from top to bottom from where the wheel stops to the top of the tire.
It takes AWAY the muscle car look to me.
Muscle cars have always had fat looking tires and 20's make it look completely against the traditional mustang or muscle car look.
It also makes it look to "gangsta" to me.

Your other problem refers to taking away from the muscle look. The solution - choose a bigger size tire that fills the wheelwell. i.e. use a 295/40/20 rear and 255/40/20 front. I'd say to check my signature photo, but you can't really tell. Also, check mlcrycc 's car. You can't tell me his car doesn't have a good stance and muscle car appearance. It's where I got my inspiration for the bigger tire sizes. So, thanks again mlcrycc if you see this

Not bashing your opinion, just stating that there are different ways to incorporate a 20" wheel into how you want your car to look. On the other hand, I saw some assclown with some UGLY 24" wheels the other day and I wanted to yank him out of his car and kick him in the ***.

I vote 20 and depends on what kind you getif they are going to be heavier or not. Nice set of 20's pawns 18 IMO
way I look at it is whats a extra 30 lbs or so, think when you take a passenger in your car thats a extra 200lbs or so . do you complain you have a passenger all the time cause your car is so slow? doubt it, if so tell anybody they cant ride with you cause you got 20's lol
everybody is always saying oh it slows you down so much, who cares its street driving if your serious about the track and your et's you have diff wheels and rims for the track.
I shot a GT500 the other day with custom 3 piece forged 22's on it and it looked awsome and I couldnt even tell that they were 22 I had to ask, it made the stance look sweet.

The average cast 20 inch wheel weighs about 25-28lbs. Take your 30 lbs example, it's like riding around with a 120 lbs person in the car at all times. That said, a forged 20 inch wheel can actually be relatively light, they just cost an arm and a leg, maybe $1800 to $2000 for four wheels at least.
Compare that to a lighter wheel. My 18's weigh 19 lbs compared to Ford 18 inch wheels, the lightest is 25 lbs. That's a reduction of 24 lbs of unsprung weight, like losing 96 lbs of static weight.
It's the same reason a single piece, aluminum driveshaft picks up .2 on the Mustang. It's 20 lbs lighter than the stock unit, which doesn't sound like much, but it's all rotational weight!
The poster above lost .1 when he went from 18 inch wheels, maybe 25 or 26 lbs, to 17 inch wheels that weigh 22 lbs or so. I believe him. I used to own a C5 Corvette and it's not uncommon for those cars to gain .2 just by losing 18 lbs of static weight by switching from runflats to performance street tires. (More give for better grip, too, but weight reduction plays a very large role as well.)
Lighter wheels don't just mean faster acceleration. They means better gas mileage, better handling, and shorter braking distances. Anyone can appreciate that on the street, no matter how fast they drive.

So to summarize: Most 20's weigh more than most 18's so if you're more more concerned about style than function the 20" is the way to go.....also people with 20's have more sex cuz their cars look better.
