Cool Car stereo install

I am installing an MTX Thunder amp and a pair of subs in my car but keeping my Shaker 500 stereo installed , my MTX does have the needed input to make this happen without a line level converter but my question is ---Does the shaker 500 cut all of the low frequencies away from the rear speakers in our cars that have the subs in the doors? I am wondeirng how far I have to run this wire from to the amp input , hoping that I can do it right from the rear speakers. Any input is welcome.

i did something similiar about a month ago but i just bought the PAC LOC w/ remote turn on. It was like $25 off ebay and basically it installed right between my two rear deck speakers. The only wire you need to run is the battery power cable and of course the amp ground. Everything else hooks to the LOC (RCA cables, remote turn on, etc). You just wire the LOC into the rear speaker wires. Very easy and it sounds GREAT!
