Stripe Removal/New Hood Q's
Ok so here is the deal. In the future i'm seeing a new hood, but with my particular car it has put me in quite a predicament.
I have a Torch Red 08 GT, with 2 factory flat black vinyl stripes on the car. I love them. I think they make the car look great, and within my particular area i haven't seen another S197 GT red with black stripes, (seen a few S197 V6's) so I kinda like that uniqueness factor.
Now I would like to get a new aftermarket hood sometime, but the problem is the stripes would have to go. I want a hood with a vent on it, and vinyl striping i know isn't the easiest to work with on hoods like that.
So, I was thinking get rid of the stripes and put on a new hood. Now I can't decide between a gloss black hood, or stock torch red. Later on down the line, I would definitely love to get the stripes repainted back on the car. If I went with a black hood I would get black striping on the car and then do torch red on the hood. If i went with the torch red hood it would be black striping all the way front to back.
Any pictures of any S197's in what i'm describing? Any opinions on what route to go on this? I have owned the car since Feb 08, and the paint is in very good condition for a daily driver. Pics can be seen at my cardomain link. Would there be any problems with paint fade being noticeable if the striping was to be removed? Like within owning this car as a DD for little over a year, would there be 2 big bright red stripes on my car?

I had black stripes on for the longest time, but I took them off when I did the front end conversion. talk about a PIA to take them off. lol
Even though I liked them, I don't really miss them..
Go get the hood and stripe it if you want stripes, if not, it will still be unique since you will have a diff. hood on.
