I used to have a Viper alarm on my jeep. It had the usual vibration sensor, but because of the soft top I also had the motion sensor as well. The alarm came with a switch, usually for switching on and off the motion sensor (which can be annoying at times like storms and high winds) but I used it for the vibration sensor instead. At work, I parked in a parking garage and anytime somebody would drive by it would set the alarm off. This way, I could switch off the vibration sensor and just leave the motion sensor on... no more parking garage problem.

I'm not up-to-speed on the particulars of the active-anti-theft alarm from Ford, but you may want to see if they can put a switch in it for you if the two sensors can be operated independently.

I use autopage alarms, keyless, remote start..., others make good alarms too, I'm just used to installing autopages.
They have a 2 way remote version that will page you if it goes off, even in silent mode so you can sneak up on the bastiches.

Lots of features.

I'll never understand exactly what is so [:@]ing difficult about opening a car door without creaming a nice car. I have been driving for 31 years now and have NEVER put a ding into another car.

I'd have to agree that the good professor's car appears done intentionally, which is just sick beyond words. I hope one day they do that to some bad@$$es car and get an "extreme makeover" as a result.
