Default Best "back roads racer" mods for a Mustang GT? Advice?

My goal for my 2009 GT is to favor handling and driving pleasure over 1/4 mile times...Plus I would love to put up good autocross times with this beast!

I have a couple of qualifications:

I would like to keep the car as light as possible- no 30+lb wheels! I'm fine with 17" wheels... but what tires would you suggest for max grip? What are the lighter choices for aftermarket wheels?

I would like to tighten the handling up as much as possible without rattling the chasis to pieces- which suspension do you like best?

I will have to drive this car year-round in New England weather so it can't be a ground scraper! How low do most of you 4 season Mustang drivers go?

I want serious throttle response and an as flat of a torque curve as possible...

I started out with a stripped Deluxe 5spd so i'm probably a few lbs lighter than most...but where else can weight be saved?

I'm planning on ordering a JLT CAI (with the SCT tuner), 3.73 gears (I have 3.31s currently)... What would be the next best bang/buck mods? Is there any real benefit to a strut tower brace or any other bracing?

Also... that stock wing is an eyesore! Who sells plugs for the bolt holes so I can pitch that thing?

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!

volk, ssr, grams light are great lightweight wheels.
Exhaust systems will lighten up a lot of weight from mid and rear of the car.
Sway bars will give much better handling
