Ok,.... IM noticing my stopping power is going away...I have the stock pads on still and im at 38, xxx ... is it time to get new pads... OR .. just get new pads and rotors ?. I dont race me car. except for the spirited HALLIN AZZ down city roads so a big brake kit is not needed...or is it!? Thanks !

It sounds as though your brake system should be inspected for pad wear and anything unusual with the rotors and calipers. Also, if you have not flushed and bled the brake system in the past two years, it would be good to do that now.

I've been pretty happy with the stock pads, but when I get ready to replace - I'm going to try Akebono pads from Tire Rack.

+1, Go with just some upgraded brake pads, the hawk ones are some of the best. From what i've read upgrading from stock brake pads is like a major stoping improvement compared to adding a big brake kit. With new lines, brake fluid, and hawk pads, a big brake kit on top of that, MIGHT give you like an extra 5-10% performance for $2K+.

Pads, lines, and brake fluid can probably all be done for under $200-$250, if you DIY. I remember seeing the hawk pads on ebay for like $150, and then I saw another site on slickdeals someone had a coupon for, and i think they had hawk brake pads for like $100 or something for all 4.

Stopping power does not go away as a result of pad wear unless
you are metal on metal. I would suspect if your stopping power is
going away it either because your pads/rotors are glazed or your
entire brake system needs to be bled.
