How much is 2006 GT worth?

I've been shopping for an 05-07 GT 5-spd Premium coupe for a couple of months. I'm just now ready to make a purchase when I find the right car. To get an idea on what a fair price for one is I've been watching the auctions on eBay and reviewing sites like Auto Trader, Cars.com...etc. There's a lot of sellers trying to get $18K+ for an 05 or 06, with some sellers trying to get over $20K! 07's are regularly being priced over $20K. I'm only looking at cars being sold by Private Sellers, dealers are just way overpriced.
The thing is, none of these cars are selling. I regularly see the same cars being re-listed on eBay over and over. The cars priced over $18K on Auto Trader or Cars.com just sit there. The decent, low mileage GT's that are selling are going for $15-$17K. I recently saw a low mileage 2007 California Special from upstate NY sell for $17,000. This was after it had been listed a couple of times with a Buy-it-Now price of $18,900 (which seemed fair). The seller got desperate, finally did a No Reserve auction with a starting bid of $17,000. He only had one bidder. And it wasn't a shill bid, the car was sold. On Auto Trader there was an 07 GT Premium with 25K miles in Philadelphia. Seller listed it for $17,400, it was sold within a week.
If you're in the market for a car take the time and watch what cars are SELLING for, not what the sellers were originally asking for. I've learned a lot by not jumping at the first nice Mustang I saw. There are good deals out there, you just have to be patient.

21K OTD for a new 08' GT with 52 miles
And what Nautiquer said^^^ Know what they are actually selling for....the 'asking price' is A LOT differant than the 'actual price' if you know whats going on

First of all, it would definitely depend on color. The "sporty" colors like Torch Red, Vista Blue, Grabber Orange, and the like are much more expensive than, not ripping on you guys, the less sought after colors like Windveil Blue, Legend Lime, and silver. Not sure where black stands. It would also depend on interior, like red leather's going to be about 1000 more or so than say, gray cloth. It all depends on what you're looking for or willing to compromise on.
I bought my 2006 Redfire GT Premium for around $18,500+$2000 3 year warranty with 35k miles on it from Carmax a few months ago, GREAT deal IMO, carmax takes excellent care of their cars, and I've had absolutely NO problems with it.
Also guys...just throwing this out here, I found my car 10 minutes after I had pretty much promised a guy at the ford dealership I would come back for a Torch Red 2009 V6 at 19,500...Most people have applauded me for my choice, other than my parents and sister of course.
