Anyone know the first year they put the SYNC in the Mustang?

Factory kit for 09s and intergrated in 2010

that is using the parts from the 09 that will fit some late model 08s. but if hes looking for the real sync that is intergrated in the car, thats on 2010 and up only

 

the first truly integrated, factory sync system was on the 10s.

for 09, and some late 08s, as mentioned above, there was an accessory kit, recommended dealer install. this kit doesn't have all functionality that other sync systems have. It cannot be updated to support the 911 assist function (auto call if airbags deploy), and it won't do the vehicle health report, or the directions plan.

I haven't heard of anyone having luck getting the system to work with 06s. you might be able to get it to work if you could pick up a shaker 500/1000 that someone with a late 08/09 removed, but maybe not. the install splices into the OBD port - not sure if changes there might keep it from working even with the newer radio.

sync definitely helps pass the time on long drives - rename some tracks to the most obscene names you can think of, then ask sync what's playing. good times, and it impresses your friends!
