Default Brighter headlights?

So I saw on American Muscle they have replacement bulbs that are brighter than stock. Can anyone shed some light on what ones would fit and look good? I don't want to spend hundreds on hids or anything. I just want some new brighter bulbs for on dark roads.

Go with bi-xenon HIDs, you will be glad you did. H13 replacement bulbs for direct replacement, here is a link to a comparison chart from Sylvania..

If you don't want to go to HIDs, which are really the best, you could try Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. You can get them at AutoZone, or other automotive outlets. Silverstars are the next best to HID.

Can the fog light bulbs be replaced like the headlights?

Yep there are brighter out there as a direct replacement. I used to be a Silverstar guy and have them in my GT currently, but I recently purchased Phillips X-Treme Power bulbs for my Ninja and they are WAY brighter than Silverstars. My next bulbs for the GT will be the X-Treme's. Also, yes the fog lights change out the same way but are a different size. You have to take the clips off the plastic cover under the hood and kinda tilt it forward (without breaking it). It was kind of a pain in the butt, but I didn't want the brightness to be different between the headlights and fogs.

I've tried Silverstars myself and wasn't impressed at all, slightly brighter than stock but, not by much. HIDs are your best bet if you want the best lighting available. Might seem a bit pricey for some headlights but, its an investment worth making. Check out Retro-Solutions, they'll help you out.

If you really want brighter headlights, then HIDs are your only option. I know you don't want to blow that much on them, but the Retro-Solutions kit is great and have a pretty good price. I have the Silverstars, picked them up for $13 so I wasn't out much if they sucked...they're ok, slightly brighter than stock like So Cali said but they're not going to make that much of a difference over the stock bulbs. You're still going to want a lot more light on dark roads. And for $50 or whatever AM is charging for them, they're not worth it at all.

The stock lamps are roughly 3500K bulbs. The Silverstars are 4000K and are definitely an improvement but not mind boggling. I have the Silverstars in the Stang and the Silverstar Ultra in the SUV (4100K but not made in an H13 bulb style) and like them over the higher temperature bulbs which throw less light IMO. The higher temp bulbs are more blue and the light less usable. At my age with my eyes, I have issues with 5000k and higher bulbs. If you can afford it, you may want to go with HID's but I think you can get more light with a suitable aftermarket H13 bulb at less $$.

I replaced my stock fog bulbs (H10/9145 for the GT) with 3000k Hella Optilux. Nice and yellow and they really help on dark rainy, foggy and snowy nights compared to the stockers. Keep doing your research and I'm sure you'll find a solution.

SO the 4000k silverstars will be a bit of a difference? I think its worth a try for $20 bucks at autozone over all the money for an hid kit.

They are like a goofy blue color are they?

Easy to switch out?

4000K is probably the most white you can get. Here is a comparison:
