Default Fuel filter change writeup?

I did a search, but all I found was an old thread with missing pictures. Anyone have an updated walkthrou on this job?

I have a 2005 GT manual transmission model, if that matters.

You can use the old write up. Changing the fuel filter is easier than changing the oil. The clips holding the filter on are quick release clips, very similar to the clip w/ the green tab connected tot he air intake. depress the tab and pull the fuel line right off. whole job take about 15 minutes. It really is easy. No special tool required, that's pretty much a scam to steal more money from you. Even if you don't have a lot of mechanical expertise you can do it.

It's really simple to do. I did mine for nine bucks. The local shop wanted eighty.

Do you need to relieve fuel system pressure before changing the filter? If so, what's the procedure?

Yes. Take off the gas cap, then pull the fuel filter relay (check your manual for the right number). Then turn the ignition until no more fuel reaches the engine. When the starter motor turns over, but the engine doesn't start, then you're good to go.

After that, it's just a simple matter of removing the fuel filter shield, pressing the green button on each connector, and pulling the filter loose. You're still going to get some spillage. so keep a rag handy. Some people recommend wearing goggles, but I just wrap a rag around the the fittings as I pull them loose. Actually, once you pull the front one, that's where most of the gas will spill out, maybe a couple of tablespoons. The back one should be relatively dry after that.

Fuel filter relay?
Whats that?
Is it like muffler oil?

The CORRECT item to pull is the FUEL PUMP FUSE,
not some relay that does not even have the correct name.
Way to tell others how to service their fuel system.....
