Default Possible Cam Phaser issues

I think I've got an overly loud cam phaser, or cam phaser bolt. I get a decently audible knock when I roll onto the throttle(sound peaking around 3-3.5k). The dealer tech told me at 2400 miles that it was "gear rollover" in the tranny and that was a normal noise. Just kept telling me that this was a 'noisy engine' too and not worry but I can't hear it on 2 other 3v 4.6 that I've been in AND I've determined that it is coming from the passenger valvetrain NOT the tranny, not even close. I've now got 6000 w/2 mobile oil changes.

If it were to be the Cam phaser/bolt issue that I think it is, is this a stop driving it now type of issue? What could it tear up? I've still got plenty of warranty left. And how do I tell the dealer, "I don't care what is making this noise, fix it. Others don't sound like this!". I want to be a nice guy but I think in this case, I'm getting blown off being the nice guy.

Yea it sounds like the problem but does it get louder when the car gets warm? Thats how mine is... There is a TSB out for it, if your symptoms match a TSB then they pretty much have to either look into it or try fixing it. Here is the TSB:

Hows the car run? If the cam phaser was out of adjustment for your cam it can be adjusted. Have you installed a new cam recently?

Car runs alright. I've never benchmarked it vs anything tho. Mainly the noise and its driving me bonkers. I can hear it clear as day every time I drive and I know it just doesn't sound right. I can't hear anything during idle or free revving, only under a load does it make the noise. It also seems to be louder when I roll onto the throttle as I accelerate. I'm curious if this could be causing any type of false knock, robbing some power too. I assume that my factory warranty is good at any dealership, correct? I think I'm going to get a second opinion.
