Default Shaker 500 speaker setting question

Does anybody know what year the Shaker 500 head unit began having the speaker choice of "convertible", besides all seats, rear seats, etc. I know my 2006 has drivers seat, all seats, rear seats. Thanks.

The first mention of it is in the 2007 Owner's manual. So I'm assuming it was a change made in the 2007 model run. It's possible a few of the late 2006 models have the mode, depending upon when the head units were updated.

That's a very interesting question you posed though. Until I saw this thread, I never heard of that option setting. I wonder exactly what the difference is to the sound? I normally leave mine on Driver's seat, even with the top down. I'm really curious now.

What does it do aside from changing it so it sounds better with the top down? I understand how the other settings change but what is going to make it sound better when the top is down?

I had that on my 2007 Vert. It did actually make it "sound" better with the top down at highway speeds.

Default Speaker Settings

I did finally get a definative answer on this question. The "Convertible" feature is in the amplifiers, not the head unit. I'm still happy with my new 2008 head unit. It looks better and has a couple of features my 2006 unit didn't have. Thanks for the input.
