Default Cam sensor codes ...No more.........

So I’ve been getting p0340 and p0344 codes for a while. They have been coming more often with a noticeable miss also. So I went ahead and ordered a new 130 amp Alt. from PA. Perf. to cure the bad diode problem in the stock one. Installed it last week and have been driving it some to see if the problem would rear its ugly head again. So far no codes, no misses, no problems!…..I wonder if it will cure the dead battery problem with the radio….I really doubt it!

I had the same problem recently. I had ordered a PA alt from AM but it came damaged with a bent pulley. I informed them about it, had another sent and the same thing, bent pulley.

I went to a Ford dealer and bought one and problem solved. Now I need to send these two damaged alts back to AM and get my money back.

I would watch the voltage with my aeroforce gauges and radar detector (which tells me battery voltage as well) and would see it get in the low 13's when driving HWY speeds but go in the low 12's when going slow or stopped. That proved what I read to be true and that the problem was the alt going bad. Of course I'd also get quite a bit of hesitations from mis-fires.

One thing I thought was odd about the PA alt was the pulley is much larger than stock. That's not really a good thing from what I hear.

For something likes this, I now believe it's better to stay with OEM.

Mine is considered re-built, but everything about it is actually brand new. From the outer case to the internals. Weird...
