1.)in the description it says both will fit 04 and later models? sooo not for s197?

2.)what exactly is compression ratio? and which one would be better for an eventual FI application?

the compression ratio is how much compression is going on in the combustion chamber.

For a F/I setup you would want to go with the lower compression ratio because of the added boost you will get from your turbos

not to high jack this thread cause it is good to know the limits before you make a mistake.... but what about the stock clucth? 550hp is a beautiful thing but without a clutch thats holds it...... you know... when do our stock clutchs let loose?

do it right the first time around, or you will be right back in there later on down the road to fix something broken.

I personally would buy a Forged Short-block that has been stroked out to a 5.0. Re-use the current heads with a little port/polish work and better valve/springs.

then you could easily run 15-20 psi with a twin turbo setup and have a wicked motor...not to mention probably 350-375 hp when the turbo's aren't spooled & boosting
+1 thats a faily budget way to do it, then down the road buy better heads.

this one is built for the s197 8.7/1 compression ratio. it is what Justin Burcham runs in his procharged s197, fastest s197 in the world. runs around 1000 crank hp IIRC. 8 second mustang!!!

IIRC: if i remember correctly. but i think he's got 1000 rwhp, procharger and N2O!!!

heres a vid of Justin Burcham running 8 second 1/4 mile. i also have a centerforce dual friction clutch and flywheel supposed to hold 550+ hp, but we'll save that for another thread.
check the last vid, 8.5 et.

According to a local engine builder, the stock s197 GT block is capable of supporting 1400-1600 hp.
