Paxton/Vortech Round Up!!
I have seen quite a few new Paxton/Vortech guys/gals. Just though I would provide the tread for everyone to gather up and discuss their setups. Any issues you are having/have had. Discuss power levels, extra parts you have added, etc.. I have seen a few threads out there about people curious about centri setups hopefully they can use this to answer some of their questions. I have had no issues what so ever, still using the BAP. I do have the Mafia instead of the extensions that normally come with the kit. I absolutely LOVE this thing, the car is a monster. Its been almost 4 months since I last saw/drove my car... Still have another 3 before I get home, but then it will be winter.... So I am making it up to her by buying her some new mods!
I'll start with my setup:
Brenspeeds Paxton Novi 2200SL HO Polished S/C Kit
BBK Ceramic Coated LT's
O/R H-Pipe
Mac Mufflers
Awaiting new #'s after the new dyno tune, will be done on Thursday!!
Before exhaust I was at 477rwhp, 432rwtq.
Others mods include:
Steeda Ultralight Springs
BMR Billet LCA's
BMR Relocation Brackets
BMR Adj. Pan Hard Bar
Auto Meter Cobalt Series Gauges:
Mech. Boost/Vac
Elec. Fuel Pressure
Wideband A/F
Mounted in SOS Triple A-Pillar.

I'm probably one of the slowest Vortech S197's but I'm still here.
Vortech v2 non-intercooled (will be building custom air-to-air over the winter)
Still on stock 7.5 rear end, will go 8.8 when this thing goes out
Shaftmasters Aluminum driveshaft
Steeda Sport Springs
BMR LCA's
BMR adjustable panhard
D'specs
Roush Vent Pod for the boost gauge
Single Borla/FRPP axleback
J&M Adjustable UCA sitting in my closet.
I have had no issues but have only had it on for about 3,000 mi.

I'm running the Brenspeed Vortech V3 non-intercooled kit, 3.73 FRPP gears and a Shaftmasters aluminum driveshaft. I have a manual trans, and full gauge setup. The shop only dynoed the car to 5800rpm (Brenspeed does 6500) but it made 397rwhp and 362tq at that rpm. According to Brenspeed after seeing my dynosheet, the car would have probably made 410-415rwhp at 6500. I just figure it around 400ish.
No issues to report with about 1700 miles on the blower. The insanely hot Texas summer translates into some high IATs (150-160 when the ambient temp is 105 on a black car in mid-afternoon). The gears and driveshaft helped quite a bit with getting into boost faster.
Lastly, no complaints. For $3800, the bang for the buck factor is high on this kit. If you think you'll want the intercooler upgrade later, you'll save about $500~ or so in buying it up front vs later on.

vortech V2 SQ H.O. with all the mods in my sig
no problems except i would recommend if you get a vortech just do the GT500 or saleen extreme fuel pump kit too, the tubes on my fuel pump have poped off twice and anyone who has worked with the fuel pump knows how much of a pain in the @$$ it is to get the fuel pump out just to reattach a line lol
dyno'd 397 rwhp and 405 trq on a bad tune, i too will either be getting a retune on thursday or friday this week

What intercooler setup do you plan on using? I hope to add to my vortech V3 setup soon, but haven't decided on which inter/after cooler to run.

I haven't decided on the air/air or air/water yet either if I do the HO upgrade. I am leaning towards the air/air since its a simpler design (less crap to go wrong). I'm still not sure if I'll ever do it though. Every time I think of spending $2000 on it, I think I should just buy an aftermarket front bumper and winch for my new Jeep Rubicon, lol....
