Take it from a guy who's owned 53 cars. If you plan on keeping the car, get it repaired. The minimal cost will far outweigh the disappointment you feel every time you walk up to it. I had an unrepairable scratch on one of my vettes that drove me crazy for 16 months. Then I had the entire panel repainted for $300 just before I traded it for my Z06. My biggest regret was not fixing it sooner. Fix it!

thanks guys for all the thoughts. its not like the car is flawless; there are some very minor chips on the hood, but those are pin-head sized. this drives me nuts every time i look at the car....

we're closing on a house next week, so hopefully i'll get it fixed soon. too many other bills to pay right now. but at least she has a garage now :-)
