just go to your local walmart or autozone or whatever and they can pull up exactly what battery you need. I cant remember exactly what size it is off the top of my head, but like i said, they can pull it up.

dont quote me on this but i THINK it is an 8mm socket. There is that long screw in front of the battery. Remove that and it will remove the wedge at the bottom on the battery that holds it to the tray. Then there are 3 8mm screws in the battery tray; one on the top side and two down in the bottom.

Is this gonna be one of those tricks where someone who knows way more about cars than me is gonna explain how wrong I am? But, uh, couldn't you just jump start the car and charge up the battery you've got? That's what I've done every time I've dealt with an accidentally drained battery over the past 20 years or so.

There are 2 sizes of batteries that fit, with the GT you want the larger one. As mentioned any store will have it on file. You will need 8mm and 10mm, I prefer box wrenches, they fit easier then a ratchet. You may also need screw driver to help pry the terminal off, if you never had it off it can be stuck on pretty tight. And remember to take the negative off first, and back on last.

Or you could just jump it and let the alternator do it's job.

I just replaced my battery and I got a larger than stock one. You'll need to take the 2 tabs on the bottom of the black thing that the battery sits on to get it to fit (its real easy). You'll also need (like the above post says) a screwdriver and 8 and 10 mm wrenches. Negative off first and on last.

I haven't driven my 06 gt for 9 months. I just got my insurance back on this past week. it only took hours of charging. I charged again a few days later on trickle to be on the safe side. These batteries drain all the time if inactive for a few days. Another major ford flaw. Charge that bad boy.
