Anyone wearing a bra?
I use a Colgan bra for any highway driving. People will keep saying to get a clear bra but there are multiple reasons why I don't go that way...
1.) They are expensive. I priced a clear bra and it would have cost me over 700 bucks.
2.) Unless you plan to do the whole hood you can notice the line in my opinion and to me that looks worse than a standard bra.
3.) Rocks coming off trucks on the highway can still chip the paint even with a clear bra if they are big enough.
4.) Many clear bras will yellow over time. Again, in my opinion this looks worse than a standard bra.
5.) I like being able to remove my bra for shows and local driving. Not going to be possible with a clear bra.
Of course like with everything else there are downsides to a standard bra as well. To me those are..
1.) Not very attractive and very noticeable unless you have a black car.
2.) Should not leave on the car at all times especially when it gets wet.
At the end of the day I decided there were more down sides to a clear bra and I went with a standard bra. If all your miles are highway and you get a good bit of rain and you don't mind the added expense a clear bra may be better for you but everyone will have their own preference and to me there is no absolute "right " answer to this question.

There is nothing wrong with driving in the rain with a bra. Just take it off to let it dry when you are parked and the car is in the sun, assuming it's clearing up.
There are a lot of myths about bras, most of which started back in the 70's, when we didn't have the high performance paints and clearcoats that we do today.
On certain colors, if you left a bra on 24/7, there used to be a possible difference in the fading of the paint. Plus they used to be easy to steal. Are they still that way?
The new Ford Mustang Bra fits very well. So snug that there shouldn't be any scratches, if you have it installed correctly.
But either way, be sure to pick up headlight covers to keep the rocks from destroying your car's plastic headlight covers. Clear ones if you drive that road at night.

I had the Ford Bra installed on my 2005 and it was installed on the car by the dealer before I picked it up....It scratched the paint.
My new clear bra has a warranty against yellowing. most who have seen the car did not even know it had a bra on it until I pointed it out. This is my second car with one and I am sold on them.

yellowing typically comes from not maintaining correctly. clear bra's have pores in them so they can breath. when people wax them with "paste" waxes, they clog up the pores and the bra isn't able to breath, causing it to yellow. not sure about others, but I have been given clear instructions and I use turtle wax ice on mine when waxing, and in-between waxes I use a clear bra detail spray
same here.
