Thanks, I was following those instructions. I didn't remove them on drivers side because I was a little worried about just pulling them out (I'm no mechanic and this is my first time pulling apart a modern vehicle, I'm used to tractors, lol, and didn't want to break anything) But I did remove them on the passenger side, made life a bit easier.

okay well I finished installing everything yesterday, everything started up just fine, went to pull out of the driveway and check engine light goes on and dash display says "fail safe engine mode" (Or something like that). So I'm thinking, oh great what did I do wrong? Pop the hood and I had forgotten to hook up the sensor to the air intake(oops) So I figured when I went to start her again there'd be no issues, but the check engine light is still on, but no more fail safe engine mode alert. I had to leave town to go to school and didn't have time to really examine everything, but any ideas what to try/look at when I get back in on friday? (I don't want to have to take her into ford, I don't have the cash )

Well if you don't have a tuner to reset the CEL then goto Autozone or something and have them clear it. There have been times they would only tell me the code and said they couldn't clear it, but I told them to give me the device and I cleared it myself...

i know on my F-150, you can turn the headlight switch on and disconnect the negative battery cable and that would completely reset the PCM. You can try that but i'm not sure if it works for the mustangs.

I'll try that, hopefully it'll solve the problem. I don't think there's anything else that would be causing the check engine light.
