4:30 gear question

Default 4:30 gear question

ive been told (damn idea fairies) that an auto with 4:30s is turing the same revs as an manual with 4:10s... is this true ! I have an auto with 4:10s and i rod in my buddys with idetical performance mods with 4:30s and DEAR GOD i was 16 all over again ! just wondering .. thanks !

No, it's the other way around. The auto has lower 2nd, 3rd and 5th (O/D) than the manual.

This is why most say 3.73 for auto and 4.10 for manual as when you do the math, the final ratios are pretty much the same.

pretty much, but it depends on the tires too.

Ya so a manual with the same tires is like 4.30's. I have 4.10's in my manual, but because I have such a tall tire (295/45) it makes them more like 3.90's.
