Default Tuning Question

okay so when i bought my car the guys at the dealer said it was tuned but im wondering how i would find out for sure if it is, and if i go buy a new tuner is it gonna work if my car is already tuned. and i am also putting stock tires and rims back on it tomorrow 235/55/17 and right now it has 275/45/20 so is that gonna screw with the tune and make it run like crap?

I'm assuming you bought it used. IF the previous owner had it tuned then he needed to return it to stock if he wanted to be able to unlock his tuner. From your post, it sounds like you didn't get his tuner. I'm not sure how that'll affect you down the road so you may want to contact Brenspeed's tech guys and ask their advice. IMO, I'd have the dealer reflash it back to stock and give you the new strategy code.

If you bought the car with 20's on it, I'm also assuming the speedo was corrected for it. Changing back to the 17's won't make the car run bad; it'll just throw the speedo off depending on the change in the overall tire diameter, which I calculate to be about 5.6 MPH higher if it was setup for the 20's. A handheld tuner will allow you to fix that.

Thanks Nuke. Do you know about how much it costs to have it re-flashed?
