Service needed every six months?
When I bought my 2005 convertible, the dealer talked me into the prepaid service by convincing me that the services were expensive and that they're required every six months regardless of how few miles I drive the car. I'm expecting to keep it under 5000 miles per year, so some of those services may happen after just one or two thousand miles. I didn't see anything specifically about the six month interval in my quick glance through the owner's manual.

Did he say what those "services" were? Aside from an oil change every 3 thousand or so, WTF could it need? The extremely expensive Tire Rotation, maybe? Sounds like he hosed you for an extra you didn't need.

I agree. Complain LOUDLY in the showroom if they give you ANY FLACK!
My scheduled maintenance says every 5K there is something to do.. usually
oil change/tire rotation and on some there are other things...
It's only expensive if you have it done at the dealership!
Demand your money back and complain to the BBB in your area.
Call Ford too!
